About the Team
Entering its 32nd year, the Gee-Gees Dance Team provides advanced dancers with an opportunity to continue their competitive dance journey throughout the duration of their post-secondary education. The team specializes in Jazz, Contemporary, and Lyrical, but encourages dancers to focus on additional styles including Tap, Hip-Hop, and Acro.
Our Mission
The Gee-Gees Dance Team is known for its strong team spirit and strives to build lasting bonds between its athletes. The team has won multiple overall awards for solos, groups, judges choice, and choreography, continuing to uphold its image of excellence and professionalism.
Performances
The team rehearses 5-10 hours a week in preparation for a select few performances and competitions held throughout the academic year. We participate in two to three university dance competitions every spring, competing against university dance teams from across Canada. The team also puts on an annual year-end showcase for friends, family, and members of our community to enjoy, and occasionally performs at various Varsity Gee-Gees sports events during the athletic season.
